About The Position

The position involves sand blasting parts according to specifications and standard shop practices. The role requires constant handling and protection of parts to ensure safety. Additionally, the equipment, including the blast booth and collector, must be well maintained, with any problems proactively reported. Duties must be performed in a safe manner to ensure compliance with safety specifications.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED required.

Nice To Haves

• Experience working in a blast booth is preferred.
• Ability to read blueprints preferred.
• Ability to safely operate a forklift.

Responsibilities

• Positions and turns material to completely blast all required surfaces.
• Adjusts mixture of air and abrasive to suit requirements.
• Services sand or grit tanks, replaces worn nozzles.
• Moves material in and out of blast booth using hand truck, tow-motor and/or overhead crane.
• Monitors humidity and temperature and compares to customer specification requirements.
