About The Position

The Blanchard Operator is primarily responsible for grinding parts flat and parallel to customer specified thickness and finish, while contributing to team efforts for operating in a safe environment for the timely delivery of quality parts by maximizing first run production of parts to Router requirements.

Requirements

Knowledge: Basic reading and math skills (minimum of 8th grade level).
GED or High School Diploma required, and 1 to 3 years in Manufacturing Experience.
Abilities: Manufacturing Quality, Controls and Instrumentation, Mechanical Inspection Tools.
Skills: Decision Making, Problem Solving, Job Knowledge, understands copy exact requirements, experience with OSHA compliance
Must be able to lift and carry items weighing up to 75 pounds.

Responsibilities

Determines sequence of operations by studying the router, blueprints, specifications, and work orders.
Prepares machine for production by positioning parts on table with block-ins or angle blocks.
Regulates machining by setting and adjusting controls.
Maintains specifications by observing operations, detecting defects, inspecting parts, and adjusting controls.
Resolves production problems by adjusting controls and process materials to meet specifications.
Notifies supervisor for additional resources when necessary.
Ensures operation of equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements on scheduled times, following manufacturer’s instructions, troubleshooting malfunctions, and alerting supervisor of necessity of for repairs.
Meets daily production scheduled requirements.
Maintains continuity among work teams by documenting and communicating actions, irregularities, and continuing needs.
Documents actions by completing production and quality logs.
Maintains continuity among work teams by documenting and communication actions, irregularities, and continuing needs.
Contributes to continuous improvement process.
