About The Position

The Boston Bruins are hiring a full-time Blades Mascot to join our team at TD Garden in Boston, Massachusetts. As the Blades Mascot, you will be responsible for serving as the primary performer and program leader for our iconic mascot, Blades. Requirements

  • Minimum of 1 year of mascot experience at the collegiate, minor league, or professional sports level with a strong understanding of fan engagement strategies and character development.
  • Four-year degree in marketing, communications, sports management, performing arts, or related field with a background in dance, theater, gymnastics, or cheerleading.
  • Strong background in hockey with the ability to skate in character, and experience in social media content creation, especially character-driven content.
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
  • Experience managing or building a mascot or live entertainment program.
  • Understanding of sports marketing, branding, and live event production, with prior experience in community engagement or nonprofit partnerships.
  • Must be comfortable performing in front of large crowds and high-pressure environments.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and leadership skills with the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Must be friendly, professional, and excellent with children and families.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee all mascot program operations, including scheduling, training, costume maintenance, and brand consistency to ensure Blades delivers a top-tier fan experience at every appearance.
  • Perform as Blades at Bruins home games, special events, and community outreach, executing choreographed routines, improvisational skits, and engaging interactions that energize fans and promote a welcoming atmosphere.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to plan and execute impactful appearances, digital content, and grassroots initiatives that grow Blades' visibility and support team values.
  • Coach and mentor support team members, including backup performers and event crew, by providing training, feedback, and leadership that uphold performance standards and program excellence.
  • Manage logistics and assets, such as coordinating event coverage, maintaining the mascot costume, overseeing the Bruins-branded vehicle, and ensuring all mascot-related activities run smoothly and professionally.
