About The Position
The Business Operations (Biz Ops) team at Mastercard is seeking a Business Operations Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) to ensure the stability and health of our platform. This role is crucial as it acts as the production readiness steward for Mastercard products. The Biz Ops SRE is responsible for breaking down barriers to run our products effectively by fostering developer run ownership and empowering developers to build resilient products. This involves supporting developers during the application build phase with operational design, automation, capacity planning, and monitoring, which leads to the creation of fault-tolerant and scalable products. In this position, you will be expected to see the big picture and help create and enforce operational standards while facilitating an agile and learning culture. Daily operations will be supported with a hyper focus on triage and root cause analysis, understanding the business impact of our products, and performing blameless post-mortems. The ultimate goal of the Business Operations team is to engage early in the development lifecycle, proactively managing production and change activities to maximize customer experience and increase the overall value of supported applications. Additionally, the team focuses on risk management, ensuring compliance and risk mitigation across all environments. The role requires aligning product and customer-focused priorities with operational needs by providing continuous feedback throughout the lifecycle. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in technical skills, a systematic problem-solving approach, and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams to ensure expected system behavior is understood and monitored for anomalies.
