Summary: JSL is looking for a bistro team member to join our dining services team. Candidates should have a positive attitude and enjoy working in a fast paced environment. They should possess the ability to effectively manage several tasks at once while maintaining a welcoming and friendly attitude. Flexibility and dependability are essential. This position is paid wages and tips are not accepted. Great Hours! Monday - Friday. 2pm - 6:30 pm. No late evenings or weekends. You will be an essential part of creating a warm, friendly environment where residents feel valued and cared for. Your energy and dedication will help foster a lively atmosphere that promotes well-being and community connection.

Requirements

  • Previous experience in food service or hospitality preferred but not required; training provided for motivated individuals
  • Strong communication skills to interact effectively with residents, team members, and management
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
  • Knowledge of food safety standards and proper sanitation practices is a plus
  • Compassionate attitude with a genuine interest in supporting senior residents’ well-being
  • Experience with POS systems is helpful

Responsibilities

  • Bistro setup upon arrival
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the bistro area, kitchen, and food service equipment
  • Assist residents with meal selections, accommodate special dietary needs, and promote positive dining experiences
  • Follow safety protocols and food handling procedures to ensure a safe environment for residents and staff
  • Engage with residents in a friendly manner, encouraging social interaction during meal times
  • Operate the POS system- running credit cards, EBT cards, or accepting cash
  • Closing out the cash drawer at end of shift
  • Closing the bistro which includes wiping down tables and equipment, closing steam table, vacuuming, and restocking
