About The Position

We are seeking a skilled and reliable Bistro Cook / Prep Cook to join our kitchen team. This role is responsible for preparing and executing high-quality hot and cold dishes, including appetizers, meats, fish, poultry, vegetables, and starches, while maintaining strict food safety and presentation standards.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Minimum 1+ years of cooking experience (high-volume experience preferred)
  • Strong knowledge of cooking techniques, food safety, and kitchen equipment
  • Valid California Food Handler Card (required prior to hire)
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills
  • Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
  • Flexible schedule, including weekends, holidays, and evenings

Nice To Haves

  • Previous hotel or hospitality experience preferred

Responsibilities

  • Set up and stock stations according to kitchen standards and recipes
  • Prepare ingredients by washing, peeling, cutting, and portioning
  • Cook menu items using a variety of methods including baking, roasting, broiling, and steaming
  • Follow recipes to prepare soups, sauces, salads, and other dishes
  • Monitor food quality through proper tasting, smelling, and visual checks
  • Plate and garnish dishes according to presentation standards
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of workstations in compliance with California health and safety regulations
  • Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently
  • Assist with inventory and food storage as needed
  • Follow all health, safety, and sanitation guidelines
  • Perform other duties as assigned
