About The Position

The Bistro Attendant is responsible of preparing food and beverage orders, serving meals and beverages to patrons as regulated by State and Federal age requirements following recipes, brand, and Food Safety Standards.

Responsibilities

  • Presents menu, answers question, and takes order for food and beverage, utilizing suggestive selling techniques and following brand steps of service, check with guest regularly to ensure satisfaction and perform guest service recovery when needed.
  • Computes bill in MICROS, presents accurate check to guest, process payment, tracks sales receipts, count bank at the beginning and end of shift, complete designated reports, resolve any discrepancies, drop off receipts and secure bank.
  • Ensures tips are reported properly for tax processing
  • Maintains counter and bar areas tidy and clean and stocks counter and bar at the end of each shift
  • Inventories food supplies and equipment weekly. Request supplies as needed.
  • Receives, dates, and examines foodstuffs and supplies to ensure quality and quantity meet established standards and specifications.
  • Ensure complete knowledge of tables, seating, room capacity, hours of operation, proper table set-up.
  • Ensure complete knowledge of Bistro food and hot beverage standards, preparation method/time, ingredients, and quality standards of taste according to recipe, espresso machine and other kitchen equipment.
  • Ensure complete knowledge of all liquor brands, beer, wine selections, recipes, and garnishments per Bistro Standards
  • Ensure knowledge of the particular characteristics and description of every wine/champagne by the glass and major wines on the wine list.
  • Setup, breakdown, clean and sanitize all Front and Back of the House, to include clearing, cleaning tables, counter-tops, silverware, dinnerware, sweeping, vacuuming, removing/dispose of garbage.
  • Cleaning, service, and breakdown of meeting rooms including food & beverage setup according to Banquet Event Orders
  • Serve food courses and hot and cold beverages to guests.
  • Perform additional duties and projects as assigned.
  • Always maintains professionalism, demonstrating courtesy and respect to guests and co-workers
  • Ability to learn and interpret such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
  • Ability to constantly communicate effectively with guests and co-workers with high level of patience, diplomacy, and tact; respond to guest requests
  • The person in this position often needs to move about the counter, the dining and the kitchen areas, and regularly traverse between the restaurant and other areas of the hotel.
  • Occasionally ascend/descend stairs and step ladders to reach high places, including shelves.
  • Occasionally positions self to inspect and clean under the counter, bar and coffee maker equipment, dishwasher, and dining tables.
  • Seldom manipulates kitchen equipment including but not limited to knives, pots and pans, glasses, and other tools.
  • Regularly operates a touchscreen keyboard, credit card readers, cash register and receipt printer.
