About The Position

The Bistro Attendant is responsible for providing the highest quality of service possible to guests in an efficient and courteous manner specifically within the Bistro at the Hotel. This role requires a commitment to maintaining high standards of personal appearance and grooming, including wearing the proper uniform and name tag while working. The Bistro Attendant must approach all encounters with guests and employees in an attentive, friendly, courteous, and service-oriented manner. The position involves a variety of tasks including serving guests with all food and beverage requirements, clearing and resetting tables, preparing buffet stations, and ensuring that the buffet is stocked with necessary items such as silverware, plates, and glassware. The Bistro Attendant must also accommodate any special requests made by guests and offer appropriate alternatives when necessary. In addition to service responsibilities, the Bistro Attendant is expected to be familiar with the operation of the P.O.S. system, greet and seat guests at appropriate tables in a timely manner, and ensure quality control of menus regarding cleanliness and appearance. The role also includes answering the telephone according to standards, having a complete knowledge of standards of service for receiving room service orders, and carrying out cashiering functions including closing checks and end-of-shift paperwork. The Bistro Attendant must perform opening and closing procedures and side work duties according to station rotation assignments, ensuring that tables and side stands are kept stocked, tidy, and clean. Employees are expected to be attentive, friendly, helpful, and courteous to guests, managers, and fellow employees at all times. The Bistro Attendant will also attend meetings as required by management and perform any other duties as requested by management.
