This is a part-time hiring one (1) Teaching Assistant (TA) position for BIS 371. Successful candidate will meet with instructor as needed and help with activities such as: Reviewing and editing content on Canvas course site Grading and entering data Transcribing audio recordings of lectures Collecting data from data sources Successful candidate is expected to: Have good interpersonal, listening, verbal and written communication skills. Be organized and have good time management skills Identify and help process any academic integrity violations that may occur in BIS 371. Successful candidate will have access to confidential student data such as Student ID, and data relating to BIS 371 grades, and hence must have high integrity, strong work ethics, and must abide by OSU and FERPA rules. Pay rate for this position is $16.05 per hour. The job is expected to impose an average load of less than 10 hours per work. There is no set percentage of time for grading, canvas management etc. This will change on a need basis.

  • Must be academically enrolled in a high school, community college, or university and pursuing a program or course of study
  • Must meet Academic Standing Requirements; students on academic suspension are not eligible for employment
  • Must meet the applicable minimal enrollment standard
  • High School student: Regularly enrolled in a high school or participating in a home-schooling program
  • Undergraduate and post-baccalaureate student: 6 credit hours per term
  • Undergraduate international student: 12 credit hours per term
  • Graduate student officially admitted to Graduate School: 5 credit hours per term
  • Graduate international student officially admitted to Graduate School: 9 credit hours per term
  • Applicants must have successfully completed BA 370 at Oregon State University.
  • This position is designated as a critical or security-sensitive position; therefore, the incumbent must successfully complete a Criminal History Check and be determined to be position qualified as per OSU Standard 576-055-0000 et seq. Incumbents are required to self-report convictions and those in Youth Programs may have additional Criminal History Checks every 2 years.
