BASIC FUNCTION The part-time Birthday Party Leader is responsible for set-up, leadership and clean-up of Park Services Touch-a-Truck birthday party activities for children ages three (3) through eight (8) years of age. ESSENTIAL DUTIES Set up all necessary birthday party activity props and supplies prior to each scheduled party. Lead indoor touch-a-truck tour and party activites within the garage at the Park Services facility. Safely provide utility vehicle rides for participants if that party option is selected. Interact with activity participants and parents in a friendly and helpful manner and provide excellent customer service. Monitor birthday party participants to be sure that they are safe at all times. Assure proper clean-up and return of all supplies and equipment utilized for birthday party activities; keep materials in good condition and well organized. Assist participants in the safe entry and exit of touch-a-truck vehicles and equipment. Operate equipment in a safe manner. Adhere to the safety guidelines established by the Skokie Park District. Adhere to the environmental policy adopted by the Skokie Park District. Perform other duties as assigned. OTHER DUTIES Must be creative, enthusiastic and energetic adult who enjoys working with people. Must relate well with children, and have the ability to work independently. Must possess good leadership and verbal communication skills. Adheres to and actively enforces the safety responsibilities outlined in the District's Safety Manual and overall risk management program. This job falls in paygrade PT5. The target hiring range for this position is $16.00 - $18.00 depending on qualifications. Experience: Must be at least 18 years of age. Experience working with children or leading group activities. Certifications: Must be able to obtain and keep current CPR, AED and First Aid certifications. Valid Illinois Driver’s License required.
