The Birthday Coordinator plays a key role in creating unforgettable guest experiences by leading birthday party operations from start to finish. This role serves as the main point of contact for birthday families by making calls, checking in the birthday kid, and ensuring every party runs smoothly. With a Texas-Friendly attitude and strong attention to detail, the Birthday Coordinator works closely with the Birthday hosts to deliver exceptional service, resolve guest concerns, and make every birthday at Typhoon Texas feel special, stress-free, and fun.

Requirements

  • Must be able to obtain a Food certification and TABC certification.
  • Must be able to stand and walk for extended periods of time.
  • Must be able to work weekdays, weekends, early mornings, nights, and holidays.
  • May be required to work in various weather conditions, such as direct sunlight, high temperatures, or rain.
  • Must be able to lift, carry, push, or pull items weighing over 30 pounds as part of daily responsibilities.
  • May occasionally be required to bend, stoop, kneel, reach, climb, or balance.
  • Must be able to multi-task and remain flexible in a fast-paced environment.
  • Must be an effective communicator with strong written and verbal skills, able to deliver feedback, share analysis, communicate updates, and lead teams with a positive influence.
  • Ability to meet deadlines, maintain accuracy, and professionalism with attention to detail in a high-volume, guest-focused environment, and perform job responsibilities accurately with minimal supervision.
  • Strong analytical skills with expertise in product optimization and strategic purchasing.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and experienced with POS and Inventory Systems.
  • High school diploma or equivalent (GED) required; associate degree preferred.

  • Experience working with children is strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Oversees party flow, and ensures the birthday room is clean, decorated, and party ready.
  • Communicate with the Food & Beverage Department daily to ensure food is ready and on time.
  • Partner with HR to recruit, hire, train, coach, and discipline all Birthday Party Host Team Members and Leadership.
  • Responsible for all scheduling aspects of the Birthday team, including generating, reviewing, and publishing schedules in accordance with budget guidelines and applicable labor laws.
  • Verify and approve timecards for all Birthday Team Members and Leadership.
  • Train, coach, and supervise birthday team members to deliver consistent, Texas-Friendly service.
  • Ensure the daily operations of the Birthday Department run efficiently, completing all opening, closing, and cleaning tasks.
  • Conduct birthday booking and follow-up calls, confirm party details, and handle parent check-ins on event days.
  • Ensure all birthday rooms are clean, decorated, stocked, and presentation-ready prior to each party.
  • Address and resolve guest concerns promptly and professionally to ensure guest satisfaction.
  • Support inventory needs, supplies, and setup materials for birthday operations.
  • Lead by example with a positive attitude, strong communication, and hands-on involvement.
  • Create and manage schedules for birthday supervisors and hosts to ensure proper staffing coverage.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for birthday families, including booking calls, confirmations, and day-of parent check-ins.
  • Lead Birthday Department morning meetings each day and attend additional meetings with Leadership.
  • Oversee the completion of monthly inventory.
  • Order supplies for the Birthday Department as needed, within budget guidelines.
  • Solicit team member feedback, assist in resolving conflicts, and communicate concerns as appropriate.
  • Other duties as designated by the Group Sales Coordinator, Director of Sales, Assistant General Manager, and/or General Manager.
