About The Position

The Birth Doula position at Pacify involves providing comprehensive support to pregnant individuals and families, both virtually and in-person. Doulas serve as perinatal advocates, offering emotional, physical, and informational assistance during pregnancy, labor, and postpartum. This role emphasizes empowering parents, facilitating communication with healthcare providers, and ensuring informed decision-making while adhering to the Pacify Doula Scope of Care.

Requirements

• Must be a certified Birth or full-spectrum doula with active certification throughout employment at Pacify.
• Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred.
• Empathy and a non-judgmental perspective are essential.
• Effective communication with clients and team members is required.
• Must have a laptop or tablet/iPad in addition to a mobile phone.
• Must have an iPhone 8 or newer model if participating in the virtual doula network.
• Must be a US citizen.

Nice To Haves

• Experience in providing virtual doula care.
• Knowledge of the latest research in childbirth and postpartum support.

Responsibilities

• Provide virtual prenatal and postpartum visits and labor support where available.
• Assist clients in creating a birth plan or wish list.
• Offer comfort measures, pain management techniques, and relaxation strategies during labor.
• Advocate for the client's needs and preferences while understanding your scope of care.
• Provide evidence-based education to parents on pregnancy, labor and birth, newborn care, breastfeeding, and the postpartum period.
• Create detailed and accurate records of client interactions by completing charts after each visit.
• Stay current with the latest research in the field of childbirth and postpartum support.
• Respond to all emails sent from the Clinical Team when requested.
• Follow all Pacify Doula Policies and Procedures, including the Code of Conduct, on all calls/visits.
• Complete yearly requirements training for HIPAA, Fraud, Waste and Abuse, Security Awareness, and Diversity, Equity and Inclusion.
• Attend required quarterly meetings as scheduled.
