About The Position

Birmingham Retail Branch Manager, Vestavia Hills, Alabama The Birmingham Retail Branch manages over $210M in gross written premium, serving clients across all Chubb segments, including Commercial Insurance, Major Accounts, Personal Risk Services, Financial Lines, and Small Business. The Commercial Segment totals $162M in GWP, and Personal Lines accounts for $49M in GWP. The Branch Manager will focus on developing and executing strategies to drive growth in Small Commercial/Lower Middle Market, Commercial Insurance, Major Accounts, and Personal Lines. This position reports to the Regional Executive Officer of the Southeast Region and is responsible for the financial performance of the Birmingham Retail Branch, which covers Alabama and Mississippi. Requirements

  • Extensive property and casualty insurance industry experience to understand industry trends, products, distribution, regulation, and current issues
  • Depth of experience and expertise in at least one discipline, such as underwriting, claims, or other service areas
  • Strong financial acumen
  • High proficiency in sales and marketing of insurance products, and in developing and managing cohesive marketing strategies across multiple Chubb segments and products

Responsibilities

  • Present a unified, cohesive, and consistent Chubb storefront and brand to the marketplace
  • Provide direction and leadership to drive consistent profit and growth in the branch
  • Establish a vision for future growth and collaborate with business partners to achieve that vision
  • Build and lead the execution of strategic and tactical plans to cultivate producer relationships and maximize targeted business development
  • Serve as the senior Chubb representative in the local marketplace
  • Collaborate with Segment and Product leaders to set goals, develop plans, and evaluate performance of Branch Segment and Product Leaders
  • Ensure effective producer planning, prospecting, and account rounding strategies and processes are in place
  • Bring together diverse teams to meet customer needs
  • Manage all underwriting and service team members to accomplish internal and external objectives
  • Provide leadership and direction for critical business functions, including planning and budgeting, expense management, recruitment, retention and development of staff, performance management, and team building
  • Demonstrate advanced competencies in results orientation, customer focus, teamwork and collaboration, leadership, communication, and coaching/developing others
  • Leverage extensive property and casualty insurance industry experience to understand industry trends, products, distribution, regulation, and current issues
  • Apply depth of experience and expertise in at least one discipline, such as underwriting, claims, or other service areas
  • Demonstrate strong financial acumen
  • Manage customer, broker, and agency relationships effectively
  • Exhibit high proficiency in sales and marketing of insurance products, and in developing and managing cohesive marketing strategies across multiple Chubb segments and products
