The Biotech Sustainability Intern will play a crucial role in shaping the sustainability program and commitments of Bayer's PH Biotech division into a strategy tailored for North America. This position involves the implementation of various sustainability initiatives, which include setting goals and metrics, gathering data, and proposing solutions to address environmental concerns such as energy use, pollution reduction, recycling, and sustainable building design. The intern will also be responsible for educating stakeholders about sustainability practices and ensuring compliance with relevant environmental laws and regulations at local, provincial, and federal levels. In addition to these responsibilities, the intern will collaborate with a diverse range of contributors and stakeholders to foster partnerships and communities focused on environmental sustainability. This includes facilitating training sessions as needed and participating in internal sustainability steering committees. The intern will gather data to report on Biotech's progress against external benchmarks and internal goals, track strategies for improving system performance, and support efforts to reduce the carbon footprint, greenhouse gas emissions, and waste management. The role also involves assisting in the development and monitoring of Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and benchmarking technology against major competitors and comparable industries.
