About The Position

The Manufacturing Associate Level 2 at Lonza is responsible for the manufacture of therapeutic proteins under cGMP conditions. This role requires proficiency in executing process recipes, monitoring equipment, and performing laboratory tasks. Associates are expected to demonstrate knowledge of cGMP compliance and process flow, troubleshoot equipment issues, and train other operators. The position operates on a rotational schedule, with a focus on maintaining high standards of production and documentation.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent minimum; AS/BS preferred in a science-related discipline.
  • Working experience in manufacturing; cGMP setting preferred, and/or experience as an Associate Level I in the bio-pharma industry.
  • Prior experience in a laboratory or academic research environment is a plus.
  • Proven logic and decision-making abilities, critical thinking skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Set up, operate equipment, and monitor production processes, including clean-in-place (CIP) and steam-in-place (SIP) operations.
  • Report production in written and electronic documents in accordance with good manufacturing practice (GMPs) and good documentation procedures (GDPs).
  • Troubleshoot issues and review documentation as appropriate.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in suite specific production activities and laboratory tasks such as bioreactor inoculation and chromatography column operation.
  • Train other associates on production tasks and scientific theory.
  • Perform administrative tasks including attending shift exchange, meetings, and technical writing.
  • Maintain individual training plan and attain qualification for all assigned tasks.
  • Perform material movements and transfer raw materials and chemicals across production areas.
  • Maintain facility and equipment through routine cleaning and sanitization, supporting 6S programs.
  • Support Site Data Integrity Plan and apply Data Integrity principles into routine tasks.
