NYP Summer 2026 Biostatistician Graduate Internship
About The Position
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Biostatistician Intern to join our Heart Failure Research Institute at NewYork-Presbyterian. This internship offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in biostatistics, working closely with Weill Cornell and Columbia physicians, research scholars and our experienced biostatistician in a hospital setting. As an intern, you will support various clinical and research projects, with a focus on heart failure. Your responsibilities will include partnering with researchers on statistical analysis plans, assisting in the study design for new projects, performing statistical analyses, preparing statistical reports and summaries and helping researchers build their databases for efficient data analyses. At the end of your 10-week internship, you will have the opportunity to present one of your projects to hospital leadership, showcasing the potential impact on patient care. This exciting internship opportunity will take place from June 1 - August 7, 2026 on site in New York, NY. This will be a full-time role. Please not we do not offer relocation assistance.
Requirements
- Currently enrolled in a Master's or PhD program in Biostatistics and completed 1 year.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in statistical software (R, Python, SPSS).
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Nice To Haves
- Experience in REDCap
- Experience working with PHI
- Knowledge of regression and survival analysis techniques
- Familiarity with medical terminology
