About The Position

As a Biosecurity Manager, you will have responsibility to oversee ecological shipping compliance including, but not limited to, fumigation and bio-remediation operations. You will be a contact for related inquiries, process auditor, and representative to regulatory authorities. You will also ensure a seamless, efficient, and complete communication between terminal/vessel operations, cargo management, and customer care in matters related to these processes. This position is a hybrid role at either the Baltimore, Brunswick or Savannah locations. Applicants must be authorized to work for any employer in the United States. We are unable to sponsor or take over sponsorship of an employment Visa at this time.

Requirements

  • 3+ years detailed, practical knowledge of the Aus-Treat fumigation / treatment process and all related regulations.
  • Proven ability to build professional relationships, execute safe and efficient operations, and resolve issues quickly.
  • Structured, well organized, compliance focused, and process driven.
  • Self-motivated and strong work ethic.
  • Skilled in managing time and multitasking.
  • Influential - able to ensure that procedures are clearly followed.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Vessel and Marine Terminal operational knowledge.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for overseeing all biosecurity and fumigation related operations and administration including but not limited to regular audits of regional and global fumigation vendors.
  • Serve as liaison between internal colleagues, providers(s), and regulatory bodies to ensure smooth voyage completions and any issue resolutions.
  • Adjust operational plans based on changing conditions, priorities, or resources, guiding stakeholders to success.
  • Oversee all scheduling for fumigation events.
  • Coordinate with the terminals regarding cargo movements related to fumigation.
  • Ensure fumigation provider(s) is supplied with all information required for treatment certificates to be issued properly and in a timely manner.
  • Oversee and assist the terminal in coordination of import and export biosecurity cleaning.
  • Assist regional cargo quality team as and when required to monitor and maintain cargo quality standards.
  • Oversee required equipment maintenance and calibrations to ensure compliance.
  • Promote a strategy of industry specific digitalization and sustainability.
