About The Position
As a Biometric Technician (BT), you will play a crucial role in supporting the mission of the United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) by working at the Application Support Center (ASC) in Wichita, Kansas. This position is designed for individuals who are flexible and seeking supplemental income, as it operates on an on-call basis. You will be part of a dynamic team responsible for assisting applicants seeking legal immigration to the United States. Amentum provides all necessary job training for qualified candidates, ensuring you are well-prepared for your responsibilities. The role requires you to be available Monday through Friday from 7:45 AM to 4:15 PM for substitute coverage as needed. It is important to note that this is not a regular full-time or part-time position; rather, it is a casual on-call role where hours are not guaranteed. You will be notified in advance of the site’s on-call needs, but there may be instances where you are informed the night before or even on the day of your shift. This position is ideal for candidates who wish to remain active in a work environment without a committed schedule, allowing for flexibility in your work-life balance. Your primary responsibilities will include completing biometrics registration for applicants, ensuring that all individuals entering the ASC are approved applicants and visitors, and providing exceptional customer service as representatives of Amentum and the USCIS. You will be expected to manage crowd control, assist in enforcing ASC rules and policies, and safeguard areas where Personal Identifiable Information (PII) is vulnerable. Additionally, you will perform quality biometrics processing, including capturing electronic fingerprints, photographs, and signatures, while adhering to established processing times. Your role will also involve screening applicants, conducting facility checks, and managing administrative paperwork accurately.
