About The Position

We are seeking a Biomedical Technician I (BMET I) to join our team. The Biomedical Technician I (BMET I) position is an entry level role with primary responsibilities for general patient care equipment service and maintenance performance. The BMET I position has direct reporting responsibilities to the assigned affiliate Unity Point Clinical Engineer Manager or designated Supervisor. Why UnityPoint Health? Requirements

Associate's degree in Biomedical Engineering Technology , Electronics, or other Technology/IT related program; military Biomedical Engineering Technician course graduate required.
Valid driver’s license (DRLC1IA, DRLC1IL, DRLC1WI) .
AUTOINS for driving a personal vehicle.

Nice To Haves

Three (3) months experience working with Biomedical equipment in a clinical engineering environment preferred.

Responsibilities

Perform preventative maintenance, electrical safety inspections, and equipment verification.
Install, troubleshoot, repair, and calibrate biomedical equipment, PCs, and medical networks.
Assist senior BMETs with advanced equipment repairs and troubleshooting.
Maintain accurate service records in the CMMS database and ensure regulatory compliance.
Communicate with clinical staff regarding equipment status and provide user education.
Coordinate with vendors and service technicians to ensure proper service delivery.
Participate in ongoing training and adhere to on‑call rotation and travel requirements.
