About The Position

NaphCare is hiring a Dialysis Biomedical Technician (BMET) - PRN to join our team of medical professionals in the Lexington Assessment and Reception Center, located in Lexington, OK. As a Correctional Dialysis Biomedical Technician (BMET) , you will work alongside correctional officers and other medical professionals to ensures the safety, repair, and maintenance of hemodialysis machines, water treatment systems, and ancillary equipment in the facility.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED is required; an associate’s degree in biomedical technology or electronics is preferred.
  • Must have experience maintaining and repairing Fresenius dialysis machines, maintaining and repairing dialysis water systems/reverse osmosis systems
  • Strong electromechanical skills, understanding of hydraulic systems, and technical troubleshooting capabilities.
  • Capability to lift, bend, and stand for long periods; often requires lifting items up to 50 lbs.
  • Valid driver’s license is required for traveling between facilities
  • Must have the ability to maintain confidentiality of all proprietary and/or confidential information and integrity, professionalism and ability to adhere to a Code of Conduct and comply with all facility(s) correctional healthcare policies, procedures, and legal requirements
  • Must pass the facility’s criminal background check and drug screening

Nice To Haves

  • BONENT certification is often preferred or required within a certain timeframe.

Responsibilities

  • Perform, schedule, and document preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs on dialysis machines, water treatment systems (RO units), and related equipment.
  • Conduct regular checks for water/dialysate, including testing for total chlorine, pH, conductivity, and water hardness.
  • Ensure all equipment operates within manufacturer specifications, industry standards, and regulatory requirements (OSHA, CMS, JCAHO).
  • Maintain meticulous records of repairs, inspections, and technical data in computerized systems.
  • Train clinical staff (nurses and patient care technicians) on proper equipment operation and troubleshooting.
  • Manage, order, and track service parts, tools, and equipment inventory
