About The Position

CLS Health is a growing healthcare system in Houston, Texas that is taking a different approach to healthcare. We are a physician-led healthcare group that focuses on providing patients with holistic, multispecialty care. We're a dynamic team on a mission to provide better healthcare options for Houstonians! We are seeking an experienced Biomedical Equipment Technician (BMET) to support maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of medical equipment across our healthcare facilities. The technician will perform in-house repairs for routine issues and coordinate with vendors or third-party service providers when escalation is required. The goal is to ensure equipment reliability, safety, and minimal downtime for clinical operations.

Requirements

  • Minimum 3 years of experience working as a Biomedical Equipment Technician or similar role.
  • Strong hands-on experience servicing and troubleshooting: Autoclaves / Sterilizers AED and Defibrillators X-ray equipment
  • Experience working in clinics, outpatient centers, or hospitals preferred.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to coordinate effectively with vendors and external service providers.
  • Good communication and documentation skills.
  • Ability to travel between facilities if needed.

Nice To Haves

  • Associate degree or certification in Biomedical Equipment Technology, Electronics, or related field.
  • Experience with patient monitors, ECG/EKG machines, infusion pumps, or diagnostic equipment.
  • Familiarity with asset management or maintenance tracking systems.
  • Basic understanding of IT/network-connected medical devices.

Responsibilities

  • Perform inspection, preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and basic repair of medical equipment.
  • Diagnose equipment issues and resolve routine technical problems in clinics and medical offices.
  • Coordinate with equipment manufacturers and third-party service companies for advanced repairs or warranty service.
  • Support installation, setup, and commissioning of new equipment.
  • Maintain accurate service records, maintenance logs, and equipment inventory.
  • Work closely with clinical and operations teams to minimize equipment downtime.
  • Track and manage service tickets and maintenance schedules.
  • Ensure compliance with safety standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • Travel to other CLS Health locations as needed.
