Biomedical Equipment Technician II - Contract Location: Huntersville, NC Position Overview We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Biomedical Equipment Technician II to join our team on a contract basis in Huntersville, NC. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the maintenance, repair, and calibration of a wide range of biomedical equipment to ensure optimal performance and compliance with safety standards. Key Responsibilities Perform preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs on biomedical equipment and medical devices including hospital beds. Calibrate and test equipment to ensure accuracy and compliance with manufacturer specifications and regulatory standards. Document all maintenance and repair activities accurately in the equipment management system. Collaborate with clinical staff to address equipment issues and provide technical support as needed. Assist in the installation and setup of new biomedical equipment. Maintain inventory of parts and supplies necessary for equipment maintenance and repair. Ensure compliance with all safety and regulatory requirements related to biomedical equipment. Participate in ongoing training and professional development to stay current with technological advancements. Qualifications Associate’s degree or equivalent in Biomedical Equipment Technology, Electronics, or related field. Minimum of 3 years' experience as a Biomedical Equipment Technician or similar role. Strong knowledge of biomedical equipment, including diagnostic, therapeutic, and monitoring devices. Experience with equipment calibration, preventive maintenance, and repair techniques. Familiarity with regulatory standards such as FDA, Joint Commission, and OSHA. Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail. Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team. Effective communication skills, both verbal and written. Certification such as CBET (Certified Biomedical Equipment Technician) preferred. Must pass background and drug screen. Work Environment This position requires working in a healthcare environment, including patient care areas. The candidate must be able to handle physical demands such as lifting equipment and working in confined spaces. Contract Details This is a contract position based in Huntersville, NC.
