About The Position

This position is responsible for all service-related activities with OEM vendors, maintenance, repair, spare parts inventory, biomedical equipment, and physical plant repair & maintenance. Must work closely with and be responsive to All Stakeholders within the assigned area, IT, real estate and purchasing. Qualified candidates will have a strong technical background which may include an associate degree or military training in electronics, Mechanical or biomedical technology.

Requirements

At Least (5) Years Prior experience working in a mechanical, automotive, or construction industry, or medical technical setting.
Manual dexterity required - ability to use common hand tools and small power equipment.
Good verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and safely move large/bulky equipment.
Ability to create a safe and efficient work environment.
Associate's or bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field or/ High school diploma/GED and 5+ years of experience servicing electrical, electronics, IT or mechanical equipment
Valid Driver's License issued in the employee's state of residence required.

Nice To Haves

5+ Years in the Ophthalmology/Optometry setting (Preferred not required)
CBET certification desirable

Utilizes resources to improve skills, knowledge, and practice to assure continuous quality patient care and delivery of Eyecare Partners LLC service.
Knowledgeable in CDC, OSHA, AAMI, Joint Commission, Network and Medicare standards.
Acts as a resource to managers, facilities, and stakeholders.
Demonstrates ability to train, teach and equip staff with necessary resources to function adequately and to the best potential outcome.
Participates in staff education, staff meetings, and in-services as needed.
Initial point of contact for all service-related equipment and physical plant issues.
Partnership with Real-estate on facility closures, denovos, and relocations to implement, relocate or closing facilities.
Responsible for Inventory of Biomedical Equipment for upload into Eyecare Partners Asset Management database.
Performs base level assessment and repair for all equipment/physical plant issues in an efficient and timely manner.
When necessary, contacts the OEM/vendor and coordinates service/repair that minimizes equipment down time. Coordinates loaner units when necessary.
Performs preventative maintenance or coordinates preventative maintenance with a 3rd party vendor as needed.
Participates in on-going training from OEMs to ensure technical competency for repair of equipment and physical plant in house.
Install, inspect, maintain, repair, and calibrate biomedical equipment and support systems to adhere to medical standard guidelines.
Perform Life safety inspections in accordance with NFPA Standards.
Perform basic physical plant repairs/preventative maintenance such as changing lights bulbs.
Works with the Director of Facilities, Biomedical Support to ensure that operational, financial, and regulatory requirements associated with Biomedical Services are met.
Acts as mentor, role model and resource for Entry Level Biomedical Technicians by setting an example of appropriate behavior, work habits and attitudes towards patients, coworkers, and management.
Trains and mentors Entry Level Biomedical Technicians as required.
Performs other duties as required and/or assigned.
