Sodexo's Healthcare Technology Management Division seeks an experienced, reliable, & personable Biomedical Equipment Technician 2 for University Hospitals - Portage Medical Center, located in Ravenna, OH to support Healthcare Technology Management (HTM) for University Hospitals Health System - East Market. Requirements

  • A minimum of 3 years of experience repairing, maintaining, and calibrating medical devices independently.
  • Experience in a hospital or healthcare setting.
  • The ability to make decisions regarding troubleshooting and repairing medical devices.
  • Excellent communication, customer service and time management skills.
  • Experience effectively repairing, maintaining and calibrating clinical devices such as: General Biomedical Devices- ESU’s, Vital sign machines, Defibrillators, AD’s, Telemetry, EKG, IV Infusion Pumps, Patent Monitoring Systems, plus OR, and Ventilators (not all are required).
  • Minimum Education Requirement - Associates Degree (or equivalent experience) in electronic, biomedical engineering or a discipline geared toward managing maintaining and repairing clinical equipment within a healthcare environment
  • Minimum Functional Experience - 3 years of experience in electronic, mechanical or electro-mechanical repair in a health care technology setting

Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot, inspect, repair, maintain and calibrate a basic range of clinical equipment, devices, systems and instruments.
  • Provide advanced support of equipment for direct patient care
  • Interact on a routine basis with clinical health providers in the identification of technology based problems and solutions
  • Solve organization-level customer service issues and complaints
  • Prepare required documentation and reports
  • Ensure regulatory compliance
  • Financial responsibility for purchasing parts and service
  • Demonstrate a safety mindset
