About The Position
UofL Health is seeking a Biomedical Equipment Technician II to join our team at University Hospital, located in downtown Louisville, KY. This full-time position is essential for ensuring the safety and functionality of medical equipment used in our facility. The technician will work under general supervision to provide comprehensive repair and maintenance services for a wide range of medical devices. This role is critical in supporting our mission to deliver compassionate, innovative, patient-centered care to the communities we serve. As a Biomedical Equipment Technician II, you will be responsible for performing significant preventative maintenance, safety tests, and calibrations on various medical equipment. You will also provide equipment repair services throughout your designated area, ensuring that all devices are functioning optimally and safely. Your expertise will contribute to the identification of value-added enhancements to our equipment and processes, promoting the safe and effective use of clinical equipment across the hospital. In addition to technical skills, this position requires strong communication abilities to maintain effective professional relationships with staff and other technicians. You will also be responsible for assisting in the ordering of parts and supplies necessary for servicing equipment, as well as cross-training other technicians on acquired skills. This role is vital in maintaining the high standards of care that UofL Hospital is known for, particularly as we are the only adult Level I Trauma Center in the region, equipped with a dedicated burn center and a nationally accredited stroke center.
