About The Position

This job assumes responsibility for and responds to assigned departmental maintenance, BioMed and IS needs. Performs preventive maintenance, electrical safety, troubleshooting, and repairs to a variety of medical equipment. Requirements

• Associates degree in Biomedical Engineering, Electronic Technology, or other similar degree
• 2 years experience in health care
• Familiarity with and skills to repair electrical systems, HVAC systems, nurse call systems, fire alarm systems, television systems, medical gas systems, IS systems and equipment, medical equipment, and other equipment/systems as needed
• Experience working with little or no supervision and exercising good judgment in handling difficult situations
• Knowledge of carpentry, painting, and plumbing
• Good organizational skills
• Good time management skills and self-directed

Responsibilities

• Performs general repairs to electronic equipment and troubleshoots Biomed, IT systems
• Performs preventive maintenance on biomed equipment
• Makes effective decisions and sets priorities using good judgment
• Maintains records, schedules, etc.
• Maintains files and database records, adhering to JCAHO and QA requirements
• Handles other duties and projects as assigned for the department
