About The Position

Parsons is looking for an amazingly talented Biomedical Engineer to join our team! What You'll Be Doing: Conducts thorough research and data gathering to support the evaluation of electronic medical devices and assistive technologies designed with innovative biomedical technologies. Performs theoretical assessments of biomedical technologies, devices, and hardware. Collaborates with cross-functional teams—including researchers, product vendors, network, and software engineers—to strategize methods to securely introduce biomedical solutions into practical working environments. Documents test plans to evaluate whether specific electronic medical devices and assistive technologies present a potential compromise to the confidentiality, availability, and integrity of information. Designs laboratory experiments and conducts real-life testing or simulations to validate the effectiveness of informational security controls implemented in electronic medical devices, assistive technologies, and other systems. Develops and implements strategies to ensure cybersecurity and information security protocols are rigorously followed in all projects. Stays abreast of advancements in biomedical engineering, cybersecurity, and information security to continuously improve processes and protocols. Conducts independent research on emerging technologies with minimal oversight or guidance. Provides technical expertise and support to resolve any biomedical engineering or cybersecurity-related issues that may arise. Documents processes, findings, and outcomes in clear and comprehensive reports for internal and external stakeholders. Responsible for working with data throughout its lifecycle, including collection, management, analysis, reporting, and secure disposition, to support biomedical device evaluation and security activities.

Requirements

  • Active or Interim Top Secret security clearance with SCI eligibility.
  • Bachelor’s degree in biomedical engineering, a related field, or a combination of education and biomedical work experience (such as working towards a Mechanical/Electrical/Computer/Biomedical Engineer degree with biomedical work experience).
  • Ability to read, interpret, and create comprehensive technical reports.
  • Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in research methodologies and data gathering techniques.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.
  • Demonstrated experience working with data throughout its lifecycle, including collection, management, analysis, reporting, and secure disposition.
  • Ability to work independently and as a member of a team, with a positive attitude.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy in work.
  • Familiarity with regulatory requirements in the biomedical industry, including HIPAA.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365 Outlook, Word, OneDrive, and Teams, and familiarity with additional Microsoft applications/tools (e.g., SharePoint, Excel, Planner).

  • Knowledge of cybersecurity principles and best practices.
  • Experience implementing information security measures in biomedical projects.
  • Familiarity with relevant software tools for data analysis and simulation.
  • Understanding of medical device regulations and standards.
  • Strong and avid user of iOS and Android mobile devices.
  • Adept with wireless information technologies (e.g., Bluetooth, Near Field Magnetic Induction, Wi-Fi, cellular).
  • Understanding of cybersecurity or information security.
  • Understanding of MatLab, Python, C++, or other programming languages.
