About The Position

The Biomedical Engineer plans, trains others, and installs, maintains and repairs sophisticated medical equipment and systems utilized in the diagnosis treatment and monitoring of patients.

Requirements

  • Minimum four (4) years experience of formal and/or on the job training.
  • Formal training from leading industry OEMs.
  • Minimum of four years of service experience and OJT training for service/support of Philips, Siemens, and GEHC X-Ray Systems.
  • High School Diploma or General Education Development (GED).
  • Valid Driver's License (California).
  • Good driving record.
  • Experience and working knowledge of medical equipment and systems in general instrumentation or the assigned specialty area.
  • Willingness to work extended hours.
  • Proficient in operating PCs with Windows operating systems.

Nice To Haves

  • Associates degree or equivalent in electronics, physics or related science degree preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Perform all phases of scheduled and corrective repairs of biomedical equipment and medical systems under supervision.
  • Conduct pre-issue and asset accounting, equipment installation and de-installation as needed.
  • Perform scheduled and unscheduled inspections, maintenance and electrical safety tests of biomedical equipment to maintain code compliance.
  • Document the results of all inspections, maintenance and tests.
  • Collaborate with other biomedical engineers specialties and OEM representatives.
  • Complete applicable documentation of all work performed in a timely manner.
  • Travel frequently for service support and training.
  • Work afterhours as required to complete necessary work.
  • Participate in a weekday and weekend on-call schedule for emergency service.
  • Keep communication devices ON during duty hours.
