The Munroe-Meyer Institute for Genetics and Rehabilitation ( MMI ) at the University of Nebraska Medical Center ( UNMC ) is accepting applications for a Biomedical or Biomechanics Researcher at open faculty rank (Rank DOQ ) with a Health Professions appointment (tenured or tenure-track). The faculty member will join a rich academic and clinical environment with established collaborations in the Departments of Physical Therapy, Severe Behavior Disorders, Speech-Language Pathology, and Psychology. The ideal candidate will have expertise in virtual and augmented reality methods and experience with one or more of the following areas: wearable technology, machine learning, motion capture, or assistive technologies. Faculty members will receive dedicated research space and protected time for scholarship. Candidates will be expected to maintain an externally funded research program and collaborate with interdisciplinary teams of researchers and clinicians at MMI and UNMC . Candidates will also be expected to advise and mentor undergraduate students, graduate students, fellows, and junior faculty scholars. MMI researchers are part of a global scientific community and collaborate with faculty in departments across UNMC , University of Nebraska-Omaha, University of Nebraska-Lincoln, Creighton University, Boys Town, and Children’s Hospital.
