About The Position

Valley Hospital Medical Center, located in the heart of Las Vegas, is an acute care and teaching hospital that has provided high quality healthcare to residents of Southern Nevada since 1972. Requirements

  • An associate degree (Bachelor’s degree preferred) in Biomedical Engineering Technology, or degree in electronic engineering technology with related experience in repairs and troubleshooting of medical equipment or equivalent military or technical training.
  • CBET certification required.
  • Minimum three years of experience working in hospital Biomedical/Clinical Engineering department required.
  • Five to eight years of experience preferred.
  • Understanding of regulatory requirements of medical devices (CMS, TJC, CLIA, AABB, NRC, State, Local).

Nice To Haves

  • Professional Certification preferred (CBET, CRES, CLES, CABT, CHTM, PMP, AWSCSAA, CISSP, CAN, MLT, CRCST) and/or other professional certifications as deemed pertinent by the hiring director.

Responsibilities

  • Performs evaluations, repairs, inspections, and preventive maintenance on devices used in the care and treatment of patients at UHS facilities.
  • Meets all established key performance indicator (KPI) requirements.
