About The Position

This position is responsible for adhering to established service standards and for reinforcing service standards with all employees. Independently, performs skilled technical work in the installation, maintenance, and repair of complex diagnostic and therapeutic medical devices. Incumbent may be expected to be present during the clinical use of equipment in area of expertise. Provides assistance to technicians and operators of medical devices. Participates in disaster, fire, and other emergencies; observes all hospital safety practices and regulations. Reports to emergency call-ins when necessary, by responding on-site.

Requirements

  • Associate degree in electronics (preferably biomedical) or equivalent military electronics training (preferably biomedical).
  • Minimum of two (2) years of progressively complex experience as a hospital-based biomedical engineer technician; Four (4) years of servicing complex electronic equipment will be considered.
  • Schedule flexibility with the ability to work shift work or weekends as required.
  • Ability to obtain a level 2 AHCA clearance.

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with codes applicable to field and industry.
  • Proficiency in written and verbal communication.
  • Proficiency in the use of test equipment and tools pertinent to the field.
  • Ability to take initiative, provide leadership when needed, and perform with minimal supervision.
  • Certified Biomedical Equipment Technician (CBET) certification.
  • Previous factory service certification on clinical equipment and systems.
  • Demonstrated broad experience in microcomputer systems and software, client server concepts and local and wide area network concepts.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office or similar products (primarily Word and Excel) and networking technology.
