As a Biomechanical Engineering Expert at Robson Forensic, you will apply the scientific and engineering principles of bioengineering and biomechanics to investigate incidents involving claimed injuries or fatalities due to various events. Your role will involve analyzing and evaluating the technical and scientific aspects of incidents, injuries, and medical device failures, and writing clear, scientifically sound reports. You will also provide expert testimony, delving into the technical and scientific aspects of incidents to determine how and why an injury occurred from a purely physical standpoint. This includes analyzing the forces and motions involved to assess whether the alleged injuries are consistent with the event. Areas of investigation may include impact and injury biomechanics, orthopedic biomechanics, and events such as vehicle collisions, sports and recreation incidents, occupational injuries, assaults, and falls. This position offers a chance to utilize your cumulative training, experience, and critical thinking skills while collaborating with highly respected experts and continuously learning and growing in your field.

  • Apply scientific and engineering principles of bioengineering and biomechanics to investigate incidents involving claimed injuries/fatalities.
  • Analyze and evaluate the technical and scientific aspects of incidents, injuries, and medical device failures.
  • Write clear, scientifically sound reports.
  • Provide expert testimony.
  • Determine how and why an injury occurred from a physical standpoint by analyzing forces and motions involved.
  • Ph.D. in an engineering discipline.
  • B.S. in Engineering from an ABET-accredited University.
  • 5+ years of bioengineering/biomechanics experience, post-doctoral work.
  • Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI) experience is a plus.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a collaborative team.
  • Excellent technical, analytical, writing, and communication skills.
  • Willingness to travel about 20% on average.
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to drive.
  • Prior forensic experience is not required but is a plus.
