The Biomanufacturing Lab Technician will support R&D and pilot‑scale bioprocess operations by preparing buffers and media, executing non‑GMP unit operations, maintaining equipment, and ensuring accurate documentation. This role is ideal for individuals with strong mechanical aptitude, solution preparation experience, and familiarity with bioprocess workflows.

Requirements

  • HS diploma + 2 years experience in a lab or manufacturing setting (bioprocess or chemical) OR AS degree in a scientific field with relevant experience
  • Ability to work independently within a matrixed team environment.
  • Commitment to safety and continuous improvement (LEAN, Six Sigma, 5S).
  • Proficiency in Word and Excel.
  • Authorization to work in the U.S. without restriction.

Nice To Haves

  • Buffer and media preparation at small and pilot‑scale volumes.
  • Hands‑on experience with non‑GMP bioprocess unit operations.
  • Familiarity with CIP/SIP, aseptic techniques, and equipment cleaning processes.
  • Mechanical aptitude and ability to work with automated systems.
  • Strong algebraic and solution preparation skills.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare small (<200 L) and large (200–500 L) batches of buffers and tissue culture media according to established SOPs.
  • Perform solution calculations (molarity, molality, percentages) and determine component volumes based on algebraic equations.
  • Set up, operate, and evaluate non‑GMP processes including: Bioreactors Centrifugation Filtration Chromatography Ultrafiltration/Diafiltration (UF/DF) Final fill operations
  • Execute CIP (Clean‑in-Place) and SIP (Sterilize‑in-Place) procedures.
  • Perform aseptic sampling, parts washing, inventory management, and accurate recordkeeping.
  • Generate work orders and enter/evaluate data in electronic systems.
  • Maintain a safe, organized, and efficient laboratory environment.
