Requirements

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and experience with GIS software.
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
  • Ability to work independently and lead a team.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Master's degree or advanced certifications are preferred.
  • Experience with project management and leadership roles is advantageous.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the collection of soil, water, and biological samples from various environments.
  • Conduct detailed surveys and monitoring of plant and animal species.
  • Coordinate and participate in habitat restoration projects, including planning and maintenance activities.
  • Ensure proper operation, calibration, and maintenance of field equipment and instruments.
  • Oversee the preparation and analysis of biological samples using advanced laboratory techniques.
  • Ensure accurate recording and organization of data, maintaining high standards of data quality.
  • Prepare comprehensive reports and presentations based on laboratory findings and field data.
  • Manage and analyze data using database software, GIS tools, and spreadsheets.
  • Interpret data and provide insights to support project decisions and recommendations.
  • Ensure all field and laboratory work complies with relevant environmental regulations and standards.
  • Maintain thorough records of field and laboratory activities, ensuring all documentation is up to date.
  • Mentor and provide guidance to junior scientists and interns.
  • Collaborate effectively with project managers, senior scientists, and other team members.
  • Communicate project progress, findings, and challenges to stakeholders.
