Your Opportunity We are seeking up to four (4) exceptionally talented and enthusiastic individuals with a keen interest in the natural sciences to join our team to work on one project site in west-central Ohio and one project site in northwestern Ohio. This opportunity begins in April and runs through November 2026 with possible extension for a full year or more. Field work is estimated at 40 hours per week with the possibility for overtime. Perform and document field data collection activities while working independently or as a team in the field. Photo-document, catalog, and store bat carcasses. Learn and follow standard operating procedures for work assigned, while continuing to develop skills. Follow strict data collection and reporting protocols. Navigation using GPS via iPad or iPhone. Technicians will be required to follow all wind facility-specific and Stantec safety protocols. Communicate daily with your team leaders. Qualifications Your Key Responsibilities Conduct searches for bird and bat carcasses at an operating wind power facility. Requirements

  • An interest in ecosystems, natural resource conservation, and the outdoors is essential.
  • Ability to work 5 days per week April through October.
  • Ability to walk ~10 miles per day.
  • Visual acuity and adequate observational skills.
  • Effective communicator and team player.
  • Organized and capable of following detailed instructions.
  • Must have the willingness to learn new skills while conducting field work in rural environment.
  • Applies logic and technical capabilities to resolve technical issues in an effective manner.
  • Conscientious, organized, and disciplined.
  • Builds and maintains productive professional and personal networking relationships within their technical team.
  • Good driving record and valid driver’s license required.
  • High-school diploma and Bachelor's degree required or working towards a Bachelor’s degree.
  • Field work will include walking long distances outdoors and will include exposure to the elements (i.e., sun, heat, cold, rain, mud, insects).
  • Ability to lift and move items and equipment up to 50 lbs.

Nice To Haves

  • Preference will be shown toward a degree in an environmental discipline.
  • Previous experience utilizing Apple products, Field Maps, and/or Survey 123 a plus.
  • Must be comfortable with computers, tablets, and GPS units.
  • Ability to identify birds (including raptors) and bats of Ohio is preferred, but not required.
