About The Position

Archbishop Moeller is an all-male, Catholic high school (grades 9-12) located in Cincinnati, OH. Founded by the Marianist order of Priests and Brothers, Moeller is a Catholic high school in the Marianist tradition. Moeller strives to educate all students, regardless of ability, in Mind, Body, and Spirit within a Community of Brothers. Moeller is nationally recognized for their House System and continues to be a leader in the integration of technology, celebrating over 20 years as a one-to-one tablet school. Moeller offers a comprehensive, college preparatory curriculum which includes over 30 Advanced Placement/College Credit Plus courses, as well as courses in business, information technology, visual and performing arts, and world language. Moeller is seeking a full-time Biology Teacher to join our dynamic, dedicated, and collaborative faculty. Starting in August 2026, the successful candidate will teach Biology courses and the Molecular Biology Research course. The Molecular Biology Research course was developed at Moeller in partnership with the BASIL community. Considerable mentoring and professional development support will be provided.

Requirements

Candidates will possess at least a bachelor’s degree and hold an Ohio Teacher Certification (or be license eligible) as an Integrated Science teacher 7-12, Life Science teacher 7-12, or Physical Science teacher 7-12.
Candidates will have classroom teaching experience, be a lifelong learner, and possess a comprehensive understanding of best practices for educating adolescent boys.

Responsibilities

Teach the Molecular Biology Research Honors+ course (post-AP), an original-research laboratory course in which students will analyze and predict the nature of a protein with predicted enzyme function. They will conduct protocols to isolate these potential enzymes from bacterial cells and design both “dry” and “wet” lab experiments to investigate and ultimately predict their function. The proteins studied in this course have not previously been characterized and their study provides students with a genuine scientific research opportunity.
Oversee the Molecular Modeling Team, an extracurricular opportunity for students to partner with university researchers and present at the annual American Society of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology convention.
Teach Biology courses through interactive, intellectually engaging lessons and laboratory experiences in alignment with curricular and student goals.
Provide substantive and timely feedback to students and parents on academic progress via our Learner Management System: MoeCampus.
Participate in a MoeTerm (one-week experiential learning opportunity for students between first and second semester), departmental Professional Learning Communities, and attend educational conferences/workshops to maintain and improve content, pedagogical and/or technological knowledge.
