Cambridge Rindge & Latin School (CRLS) is a comprehensive high school divided into four Learning Communities designed to promote high levels of learning and achievement for all students. Honors courses are offered in all core classes (English, History, Mathematics, and Science); Advanced Placement (AP) courses are available to qualified students in grades 11 and 12. The Cambridge Rindge and Latin School seeks a Biology Teacher, Grades 9-12, to join our caring and innovative community. This is a 10-month school-year teaching position working with a diverse student population in a comprehensive 9-12 urban school setting. The Biology Teacher reports to, and is supervised by, the Dean of Curriculum & Program (Science). The Biology teacher, in collaboration with colleagues in the CRLS Science Department, is responsible for developing, refining, modifying, and implementing courses based upon the Mass. DESE Frameworks for Biology. The Biology Teacher will set high expectations for all students and utilize scaffolding and differentiation to support students. The teacher will have an appreciation and awareness of the unique developmental needs of young people in this age band. As a professional, the teacher will display a collegial spirit that supports and enhances continual professional growth consistent with the educational goals and philosophies of our school community. Moreover, they will be fully committed to continuously learning, improving, reflecting, and working together to ensure that all students achieve at high levels.
