This position requires a Biology 5-12 teacher's license to begin by teaching introductory Biology Science. The teacher will create a classroom environment that is conducive to learning and develops workplace attitudes. Responsibilities include differentiating instruction to meet individual student learning styles, planning and updating the curriculum to meet changing Indiana state standards and current industry standards, and demonstrating experience implementing innovative instructional programs. The teacher will also utilize appropriate technology and effectively manage the daily use of technology by students to enhance instruction and communication. Regular communication with parents and providing opportunities for parent involvement is essential. The teacher will maintain accurate records and open communication with administrators of all high schools regarding grades, attendance, and behavior. Additionally, the teacher will manage the behavioral, social, and emotional issues of a diverse ethnic/racial student population and integrate language arts and math skills into the agriculture curriculum. Active participation in ongoing curriculum development is also expected.
