About The Position
Assist in biology labs to prepare set-ups, cleaning and storage of glassware and chemicals used by students.
Requirements
- Must be enrolled in at least 6 credit hours for Fall/Spring semester or 1 credit hour for Summer semester.
- Cumulative GPA of 2.0 or above.
- If a first semester student, GPA requirement is waived.
- If a Student qualifies for Federal Work Study, the Student will be hired as a Federal Work Study employee to utilize these funds.
- College level biology or chemistry courses is required.
- Must be able to follow instructions of chemical preparation required.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Work experience in the science area or a science major is required.
- COD Training
- Lab Safety
- Compliance Training
- Must be aware of safety practices when preparing chemical solutions.
Responsibilities
- Prepare chemicals and lab set ups as directed.
- Prepare media, inoculations for microbiology.
- Clean and maintain glassware, 8 labs and two prep areas.
- Help maintain cadavers.
