About The Position

Lower Columbia College is seeking a dynamic, energetic and creative instructor committed to community college students and their success. This position will be responsible for teaching courses in Biology, which may include General Biology, Anatomy & Physiology, and Microbiology. Courses are delivered through multiple modalities including online, hybrid, and in-person. Requirements

  • Masters Degree in Biology or a related field from an accredited institution.

Nice To Haves

  • Teaching experience in the first two years of college biology.
  • Experience using technology to enhance student learning, including using a Learning Management System.
  • Ability to communicate knowledge and skills in both oral and written forms to students who represent a broad spectrum of ages, abilities, ethnicity, education, and cultural backgrounds.

Responsibilities

  • Provide quality instruction in the classroom and online, adapting to a variety of teaching/learning situations, and maintaining up to date content.
  • Teach and supervise biology lab experiences, being responsible for the safe and proper use of laboratory equipment and materials
  • Effectively use computer applications/technology for instruction and communication as appropriate
  • Assess, evaluate, and document student learning and achievement of course outcomes, and provide timely feedback to support learning including providing individualized support
  • Communicate and interact effectively with supervisors, colleagues, and staff as a member of the educational team.
  • Uphold LCC policies and procedures.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
