About The Position
The Biology Academic Advisor will provide academic advising to students with interests in the Biology major (BS and BA), Biology minor and Biochemistry major across all four years. The Biology Academic Advisor will assist in updating and revising the Biology section of the Undergraduate Bulletin and will generate Forms and Checklists that accurately reflect the requirements described in the Bulletin. The incumbent will work closely with Academic and Transfer Advising Services to assist in the coordination of Transfer Orientations for incoming Biology and Biochemistry students and will be responsible for pre-evaluating the academic records of all incoming Biology and Biochemistry students and making scheduling recommendations for their first semester to be used at their Orientation. The incumbent will serve as a liaison to academic departments that offer minor degree programs that can be used to satisfy the requirements of the BIO BA. The Biology Academic Advisor will be a key member of a professional team that will coordinate the efforts of faculty, staff and student constituents in enhancing student success.
