About The Position

Biologist, Lead Key Role: Leverage scientific knowledge to support biological or biochemical research agendas. Apply leading-edge principles, theories, and concepts and contribute to the development of new principles and concepts. Work on unusually complex problems and provide highly innovative solutions. Operate with substantial latitude for unreviewed action or decision and mentor or supervise employees in both organization and technical competencies. Provide biological weapons effects subject matter expertise to client research and modeling and simulation (M&S) programs. Apply biological weapons effects knowledge to support client biological technology effects, detection, and forensic research programs. Support various multi-INT teams conducting hard target deconstruction, preparing technical collection concepts, developing R&D requirements, and preparing technical collection research reports.

Requirements

  • 11+ years of experience conducting systems engineering or research developing and advancing physics-based models for atmospheric transport or biological weapons effects
  • 11+ years of experience with engineering research, reverse engineering analysis or characterizations, and facility and vulnerability assessments on foreign biological capabilities
  • Experience with systems engineering approaches to biological weapons effects
  • Ability to evaluate all project aspects, including design, development, execution, and implementation of chemical and biological research
  • Active TS/SCI clearance; willingness to take a polygraph exam
  • Bachelor's degree in Biology, Biological Sciences, or Epidemiology

  • Experience with DoD agencies
  • Experience with military operations, biological command, control, and communications, survivability, and hard target defeat
  • Knowledge of systems engineering, data science, artificial intelligence, and machine learning
  • Knowledge of weapons control technology
  • TS/SCI clearance with a polygraph
  • Master's degree in Biology, Biological Sciences, Epidemiology, or a related field
