About The Position
TRC Companies, Inc. is seeking a Biologist to join our Planning, Permitting, and Licensing Practice in the Houston, TX area. This position is ideal for individuals who are passionate about environmental science and are looking to make a meaningful impact through their work. As a Biologist, you will be involved in a variety of projects that require a strong technical background and a commitment to environmental compliance and permitting. The role offers the flexibility of remote working or a hybrid office/remote working arrangement within Texas, allowing for a balanced work-life dynamic. In this position, you will conduct biological field surveys, which may include wetland and waterbody assessments in accordance with USACE requirements, as well as habitat and wildlife surveys. You will be responsible for collecting accurate data in the field using GPS units and mobile applications to locate work areas and map habitat and species observations. Additionally, you will prepare wetland reports and assist in obtaining jurisdictional determinations, providing essential support for permit applications related to USACE Section 10/404 and state permits. Your role will also involve supporting mitigation activities, including the development of Wetlands Mitigation Plans and conducting monitoring and reporting to relevant agencies. You will prepare reports on listed species and consultation packages for resource agencies, as well as federal, state, and local environmental permits. This position is an excellent opportunity for recent graduates or those with limited experience to gain hands-on experience in the field of environmental science and compliance.
