About The Position

Performs tasks related to the distribution duties for the management of whole blood and blood components, in compliance with OneBlood standard operating procedures. May be required to perform duties related to other Biologics functions including manufacturing and transportation of blood, blood products and specimens. Position Schedule: This is a full-time position that will work 6:00 AM - 4:30 PM Friday - Monday. Flexibility is required. Training Schedule: Candidate must be available to attend training Monday through Friday 7:30am to 4:00pm for a period of 2-3 weeks (Based upon when hours are worked positions may include a shift and weekend differential of $1.50 - $4.50 per hour.)

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent and proficient computer skills.
  • Current and valid driver’s license in good standing required.
  • Ability to organize work for timely completion
  • Ability to multi-task, while maintaining the safety of blood components
  • Ability to follow complex oral and written instructions
  • Ability to speak, write, read and understand English
  • Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective and cooperative working relationships with customers and those contacted in the course of work
  • Basic computer skills including knowledge of Microsoft Office applications
  • Skill in operating office equipment and technology
  • Ability to report to work during a disaster, public health emergency or other catastrophic event.
  • Tasks involve the performance of moderately physically demanding work for extended periods of time, involving standing, lifting, carrying, pushing and/or pulling of moderately heavy objects and materials (up to 50 pounds). Tasks that require moving objects of significant weight require the assistance of another person and/or use of proper techniques and moving equipment. Tasks may involve some climbing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling.

  • Prior customer service, laboratory, blood bank manufacturing or logistics experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Ensures suitability and accurate labeling of products for release and distribution
  • Performs data entry associated with component production, labeling, storage and shipping ensuring accurate and complete manufacturing records
  • Manufactures, stores and distributes blood and blood products
  • Operates, maintains and performs quality control checks on equipment
  • Performs the quarantine and disposition of unacceptable products and/or samples and performs quality control on blood products
  • Ensures adequate inventory of required supplies
  • Provides customer service to internal and external customers and vendors
  • May operate a OneBlood courier vehicle when applicable. This position will also have courier responsibilities, as needed, and additional background checks will be required.
