About The Position

The Biological Technician II position at Parsons involves supporting and facilitating biological research aimed at the rapid detection of infectious diseases of global importance. Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in a biological science field.
• 3-5 years of practical experience in molecular biology.
• Practical knowledge of nucleic acid-based assay design and development.
• Demonstrated ability to work competently in a BSL-2 clean laboratory.
• Minimum of 1 year of experience in reagent production under an ISO 17034/17025 or similar Quality Management System.
• Ability to obtain a Secret security clearance.

Responsibilities

• Supports research and development of molecular diagnostics.
• Produces reagents and manages quality control processes.
• Develops and evaluates real-time polymerase chain reaction assays.
• Conducts proficiency testing for biological threats.
• Provides laboratory and field support for biological threat agent detection.
