About The Position

About the Role: As a CBRE Biological Safety Technician, you will be onsite at large pharmaceutical company in Indianapolis supervising sophisticated building system operations and the performance of various areas including biological safety cabinets, lab containment, fume hoods, calibration of laboratory instruments, and HEPA filtered equipment. This job is part of the Engineering and Technical Services job function. They are responsible for providing support, preventive maintenance, and repairs on equipment and systems. What You'll Do: Perform testing, calibration, certification, and maintenance on a diverse array of lab equipment and environments, either at client sites or in specialized workshop facilities. Align with all applicable codes, regulations, governmental agency, and company directives related to building operations and work safety. Coordinate and inspect the work performed by outside contractors. Respond to common inquiries or complaints from clients, co-workers, and/or supervisors. Advise the implementation of a preventive maintenance program to ensure that building machinery and systems meet or exceed their rated life. Perform repairs and emergency maintenance as needed. Review and sign off on inspections of building systems to ensure the operation of equipment is within build capabilities and achieves environmental conditions prescribed by the client. Mentor others to develop in-depth knowledge and expertise in most or all areas within the function. Lead by example and model behaviors that are consistent with CBRE RISE values. Anticipates potential objections and persuades others, often at senior levels and of divergent interest, to adopt a different point of view. Impact the achievement of customer, operational, project, or service objectives across multi-discipline teams. Work is guided by functional policies which impact the design of procedures and policies. Give to new products, processes, standards, and/or operational plans in support of achieving functional goals.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma, GED, or trade school diploma or equivalent experience with 5-8 years of job-related experience.
  • Meet the physical requirements of this role including stooping, standing, walking, climbing stairs/ladders, and the ability to lift/carry heavy loads of 50 lbs. or more.
  • Microsoft Office: Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams, etc., and CMMS
  • Ability to calculate figures such as percentages, fractions, and other financial-related calculations.
  • Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States without the need for visa sponsorship now or in the future

Nice To Haves

  • Universal CFC certification a plus.
  • NSF49 BSC accreditation and ASHRAE110 preferred.
  • Certification through CETA a plus!
