About The Position
Metas Solutions is seeking an experienced Bioinformatics Specialist to join our team. This position is remote and requires a candidate who can obtain a US Government Security Clearance (Public Trust Level 5). As a Bioinformatics Specialist, you will work closely with clients to understand their specific questions and needs, diving into their data-rich environments to extract meaningful insights. Your role will involve analyzing analytics and automation, utilizing a variety of tools and frameworks to transform disparate data points into actionable information that aids clients in making informed decisions. You will provide clients with a comprehensive understanding of their data, elucidating its significance and potential applications. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in bioinformatics, with experience in genomic toolkits, databases, and scripting languages such as Python and R. You will be responsible for developing bioinformatics pipelines using parallel programming capabilities through workflow tools like Snakemake or Nextflow, particularly in Linux-based high-performance computing environments. Familiarity with next-generation sequencing, omics data analysis, and open-source omics analysis tools is essential, especially as they pertain to public health genomics. Additionally, you will need to demonstrate knowledge of data management using SQL and NoSQL technologies, as well as statistical techniques for analyzing omics data. This role requires the ability to independently conduct analysis, interpret complex large datasets, and communicate findings clearly and concisely. You will be expected to incorporate best practices in CI/CD, DevSecOps, and MLOps into your development processes, and experience with cloud-based environments such as AWS and Azure will be beneficial. Familiarity with machine learning techniques, data visualization tools, and advanced programming methods will also enhance your candidacy.
