About The Position

Gevo is seeking a Biogas Technician that will be responsible for operating and maintaining plant equipment to ensure maximum production quantity and quality, while following all safety protocols and supporting the policies, goals, and objectives of Gevo. The Biogas Technician is expected to learn, understand the process and have excellent record keeping practices.

Requirements

  • Proficiency in operating and maintaining mechanical and electrical equipment.
  • Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills to diagnose issues.
  • Experience with SCADA/PLC systems
  • Familiarity with safety protocols, such as HAZMAT and OSHA standards.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with team members and management.
  • Must be able to perform physical tasks required for maintenance and operations.
  • Expected to be on a weekend rotation and On Call.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in some or all the following industries: Renewable energy, gas processing, chemical, power, waste management, and/ or environmental air quality.

Responsibilities

  • Operate and monitor equipment such as digesters, gas upgrading systems, compressors, and pumps to ensure efficient biogas production to hit the plant goal of 97% uptime.
  • Perform routine and preventative maintenance, including repairs on mechanical and low voltage equipment.
  • Diagnose and fix problems with plant operations and equipment malfunctions.
  • Collect samples and perform analytical tests on biogas quality (e.g., pH, gas composition) and other process parameters to ensure quality standards are met.
  • Follow strict safety procedures and regulations and wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Keep accurate logs of all maintenance activities and operational data using CMMS Software
  • Input and analyze data from the plant's control systems (SCADA) to monitor performance and health.
  • Maintain a clean and presentable work environment at all 4 facilities including Gevo vehicles
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Operations Manager
