About The Position

To provide intermediate-level technical skills needed in the analysis, maintenance, calibration, installation, and modification of medical and laboratory equipment and instrumentation.

Requirements

  • Associate's degree in Electronics or Biomedical Technology.
  • Three years of related experience is required.
  • An equivalent combination of education and experience relevant to the role may be considered for this position.

  • Understanding of standard research laboratory equipment.

Responsibilities

  • Performs analysis and isolation of mechanical or electronic malfunctions.
  • Inspects and tests equipment and apparatus to ensure specified functional qualities according to blueprints or written specifications.
  • Examines and tests equipment to identify the cause of malfunctions or inaccuracies.
  • Disassemble equipment to locate malfunctioning components and repair or replace defective parts.
  • Reassembles equipment and adjusts and calibrates precision components to ensure specified operation.
  • Participates in the development of quality control and preventive maintenance programs.
  • Runs safety tests on potentially all medical and/or laboratory equipment and record documentation.
  • Adheres to internal controls established for the department.
  • Performs related duties as required.
