About The Position

The Biobank Coordinator will interact with the Biobank Director, other CRO leadership, CRO staff, and researchers to support and coordinate projects. The role involves ensuring necessary consents and authorizations are in place for sample collection, maintaining study records and associated clinical databases (RedCap), handling sample requests, procuring needed authorizations, and processing/delivering samples within agreed-upon timelines. The coordinator will track tasks and deliverables to maintain accurate records and ensure projects meet timelines, perform additional duties as required as new studies are initiated, and obtain informed consent for research studies. The position also includes ensuring samples are collected, processed, labeled, stored, and cataloged appropriately, performing DNA, RNA, and protein extraction from blood and tissue samples, performing immunohistochemical staining of tissue samples, retrieving requested samples, preparing sample inventories/data reports, and preparing samples for shipping and receiving as needed per protocols. The Biobank Coordinator will maintain necessary biobank supplies, maintain service records, prepare invoices for services, work with the Biobank Director to ensure adequate updating and organization of protocols related to research studies, and operate and maintain a variety of scientific instrumentation.
